<\/strong>As part of a fantastic story for the BCT Aspire Youth Music Programme & Dodgy<\/strong> we are proud to announce that the band will be headlining our June 28th<\/sup> show at the Georgian Theatre. Support will come from our very own children & young people.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Dodgy are back out on the road in May to celebrate 20 years since the release of their classic debut album, THE DODGY ALBUM<\/strong>, and to continue spreading the love from last year’s critically acclaimed album STAND UPRIGHT IN A COOL PLACE<\/strong>, they will be playing tracks from both albums & other classic tracks.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BCT Managing Director Paul Burgum said ” This is simply mind blowing for us as an organisation. The guys have supported BCT so much this last year and this show will be the icing on the cake. It is also ten years of BCT, from our early day’s as a group of lads getting together putting simple events on for charity. Who could believe we would be hosting our own show at the Georgian Theatre and YES obviously they are one my favorite bands ever!”,\u00a0<\/p>\n

STAND UPRIGHT IN A COOL PLACE <\/strong>the\u00a0new album from Dodgy<\/strong> was a long time coming, 15 years to be precise since the platinum selling \u2018Free Peace Sweet\u2019 <\/strong>and from the four and five star reviews and many media plaudits the new album has received, they have successfully overcome the often tricky task of a band reinventing themselves, to make a contemporary and relevant album. Creating a sound with \u201cgolden harmonies and echoes of CSN&Y and Fleet Foxes\u201d<\/em>, described by The Word magazine as \u201cLaurel Canyon by way of The Malverns\u201d<\/em>, a result for which the contribution by mixer Matt Pence<\/strong>, known for his work with the likes of Midlake and John Grant, should not be underestimated.<\/p>\n

The first time round, Dodgy were only together for seven years but in that time they sold over a million records worldwide, released three albums and 12 Top 40 singles, including 3 Top 10s and the Top 5 hit Good Enough<\/strong>, still a staple of the radio playlists; sold out the Brixton Academy for three nights in a row and were awarded an unprecedented 90-minute Saturday evening slot on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury Festival in 1997 just before Radiohead. Not bad, considering that they also partied harder than an Ewok.<\/p>\n

Dodgy <\/strong>had an extremely busy Summer, even by their standards, promoting the recent critically acclaimed album \u201cStand Upright In A Cool Place\u201d,<\/em> as live gigs and festival appearances have always been an important part of the Dodgy experience, for many they are the perfect festival band & Summer 2012 was no exception, with Dodgy ripping it up at prestigious festivals such as BT LONDON LIVE<\/strong>,\u00a0Camp Bestival<\/strong>, V Festival<\/strong> and Kendal Calling<\/strong>, as well as various other boutique festivals around the UK.<\/p>\n
