Call for Volunteers!

BCT Aspire relies on volunteers for much of it’s work and is always looking for enthusiastic people to work with the charity. All funds we raise from our events and activities are put back into providing equipment and future opportunities for our young people in the Billingham area. Please email info@bctaspire.org.uk if you are interested in any of our opportunities…

Below is a list of current areas we are looking for volunteers to assist us with:

Catering Opportunities

In 2012 BCT Aspire were asked to take over running of Tees Achieve’s in-house Cafe located in the Billingham Community Centre, which had been closed for quite some time.  Since then the Cafe has been extensively refurbished and now offers hot and cold food on a daily basis for all employees and visitors to the Community Centre.  The cafe is becoming very popular and at times can become very busy.  So we now have opportunities for those wishing to be involved within the Catering industry to gain some experience in a working environment.  You can volunteer for as little as half a day or more !  Two of our former volunteers have recently moved into employment within the industry.

BCT Aspire are also involved in Event Catering providing buffets etc to local businesses and this is an area we are looking for volunteers as well.

Music & Youth Opportunities

BCT Aspire are responsible for a busy youth music programme which include concerts, music youth sessions and lessons.  Over the last month our “kids” have performed at the Georgian Theatre and The Arc, and over the summer months have a busy schedule of events ahead.  We also run an extremely popular “jam” night that attracts upwards of 25 young musicians.  Therefore we are keen to expand this programme and are looking for volunteers in this area.  You don’t have to play an instrument to get involved just bags of enthusiasm!

BCT Aspire run a “Den” which is a music rehearsal space at the Billingham Synthonia Club.  This is hired out to local musicians, however, we need volunteers to supervise the sessions.
