Billingham Fundraiser in Video appeal

Paul Burgum of BCT Aspire is appealing for help to finance his next new project, to create a set of videos to promote awareness of the issues so close to his heart.

Paul said: “On the back of my numerous charity walks, I am trying to raise the finance to get a set of videos professionally produced to be used to promote awareness of mental health, drug and alcohol problems as well as generally raising the aspirations of local youngsters.

I have given talks in a diverse range of settings including Holme House Prison, schools and youth groups.

I realise that everybody is working hard to keep cash in their pockets at the moment but feel that with these videos I can go a step further. I have been given a cost of £6,000 from a very good local company which specialises in this area.”

With BCT Aspire being 85% self-sufficient – money is normally raised through work by its sister branch, BCT Events and BCT’s Catering business – Paul says asking for help doesn’t come naturally.

He said: “It doesn’t come easily to me, but funds have been difficult to come by this year and we’ve helped so many people, it’s time we asked for a bit of help ourselves. This is a really important project. We’ll be showing it in schools and community groups and any sponsors will have their name on it.”

If you can help, contact Paul at BCT on 01642 644231.
